Sheella R. Martinez is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department, where she represents clients in a wide range of real estate-related litigation matters.
Sheella concentrates her practice on title insurance litigation, including disputes involving coverage, title defects, conveyance issues, and boundary or easement conflicts. She has experience handling quiet title actions, restrictive covenants, adverse possession claims, and matters involving lien priority, mortgage fraud, and forgery. Her practice also includes landlord-tenant disputes, construction litigation, and administrative and regulatory matters. She regularly represents clients in mediations, arbitrations, and proceedings in both state and federal courts. Additionally, Sheella advises on various commercial real estate and property management issues.
Before joining Romer Debbas LLP, Sheella practiced at a New York City-based law firm with a focus on landlord-tenant litigation. She also clerked for a Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Queens County, and served as a Judicial Intern in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Sheella is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, New York Women’s Bar Association, and the Hispanic National Bar Association. She is also the former President of MetroLALSA Inc.
