Robert M. Connelly, Esq. is a partner  in the firm’s real estate department and manager of the firm’s East End real estate and zoning practice.

With nearly 20 years of experience in real estate law, land use, and municipal law, Robert Connelly has built a distinguished legal career representing clients across the East End of Long Island and beyond. Now a partner at Romer Debbas LLP, a top full-service real estate law firm, he provides high-level legal counsel on real estate transactions, zoning, permitting, and contract negotiations from Manhattan to Montauk.

After graduating cum laude from Hofstra University School of Law in 2005, Robert began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County, where he gained extensive trial experience and was recognized with the Outstanding Prosecutor Award in 2009. His litigation background strengthened his ability to advocate for clients in complex legal matters.

Robert later transitioned to municipal law, serving as an Assistant Town Attorney for East Hampton, where he advised the Zoning Board of Appeals and Architectural Review Board and prosecuted Town Code violations. He then joined one of Long Island’s premier law firms, rising to the position of Counsel in its esteemed Land Use and Municipal Department, where he worked on high-value real estate projects and zoning matters.

In 2023, Robert was appointed East Hampton Town Attorney, leading contract negotiations, municipal litigation, land use matters, and government affairs while working closely with local agencies and municipalities. That same year, he founded Connelly Law PLLC, offering strategic legal representation with a focus on cost-effective, client-centered advocacy.

Now, as a partner in Romer Debbas LLP’s East End office, Robert continues to serve buyers, sellers, developers, investors, and business owners with trusted legal guidance in real estate transactions, zoning and land use approvals, contract negotiations, and municipal law. His deep knowledge of the East End real estate market makes him a go-to legal resource for clients navigating property acquisitions, permitting issues, and development projects.

Robert lives on Long Island’s North Shore with his wife, Olivia, and their five children.
